Books of Art + Design is our second auction of reference material focusing
on modern and contemporary art and design books, including monographs,
surveys, periodicals and ephemera. As a companion to our regular art
and design auctions, this sale reflects Wright's desire to diffuse knowledge
and showcases the importance of twentieth century design.
An important selection of artist's books will be offered- a selection
of rare Dieter Roth Werke Bande books and Gordon Matta-Clark's Walls
Paper are notable examples. Additionally, the sale features a large
selection of reference material on Modern and Contemporary art with
several lots comprised of books about Donald Judd, Gerhard Richter,
Brice Marden, Richard Serra and Richard Tuttle. Modern design is represented
with lots of Scandinavian and Italian Design titles, typography reference
material and six decades of Domus catalogs.
