Laminated chair
P. Jeppesens Mobelfabrik A/S
Denmark, 1963
teak plywood, brass
25 w × 27 d × 29 h in (63 × 69 × 74 cm)

This design received first prize in a furniture competition sponsored by the Daily Mirror newspaper. Although originally designed for mass production, it was considered too radical at the time and only a limited number were produced. They were offered in oak and teak veneer; teak examples being rare because the nature of the wood did not lend itself well to the molding process. Signed with two metal disc labels. Literature: Danish Chairs, Oda, pg. 159

estimate: $12,000–15,000
result: $16,000
