This design debuted at the 1937 World's Fair in Paris where it received a gold medal, hence acquiring the name Paris Bed. Few examples of this form were produced due to the difficulty of design.

Signed with manufacturer's labels to underside: [Bruno Mathsson Firma Karl Mathsson Made in Varnamo Sweden] and [Bruno Mathsson Mobler], with marks in pen: [BM 36].
