Over 100 works of art and design come from this private Paris collection. Artistic highlights from this prominent collection include artworks by Aya Takano whose work was included in Murakami's 2000 exhibition Superflat, a sculpture by Elmgreen and Dragset a duo known for works that balance the mediums of art, architecture and design to create pieces that redefine the familiar through modification of objects and their functionality, and Xavier Vielhan whose major retrospective was recently on view at Versailles. Poignant works by Bernard Frieze, Sophie Calle and Ivan Novarro as well as numerous other significant contemporary artists will also be sold. Distinguished furniture forms, from curvaceous and organic shapes to the cool and ornate, parallel the seductive and sensual nature of the artworks within the collection. Designs by Vladimir Kagan, Ado Chale, Paul Evans, Maison Jansen, lighting by Serge Mouille, Stillnovo and Tony Duquette as well as forms from lesser-known designers are also offered in this sale.
