Wright presents Taxonomy of Design, an auction featuring works from the collection of the Thessaloniki Design Museum. The museum, located in Thessaloniki, Greece, was founded in 1993 by designer Stergios Delialis and was devoted to the systematic study of 20th century design. The museum held exhibitions on a variety of subjects, including Memphis, Enzo Mari, Door-handles, 1960s Utopia, Ron Arad, Michael Graves, Bauhaus and Dieter Rams. The works offered here come from the museum’s permanent collection and represent the institution’s primary areas of focus: furniture, lighting, domestic appliances, office equipment and graphics.
