Wharton Esherick custom sofa for Lawrence and Alice Seiver $80,000–120,000
Wharton Esherick pioneered the American studio craft movement and is best known for his interior furnishings that are at once sculptural and functional. Over several years in the late 1950s, Esherick created more than 25 pieces for the Main Line home of Lawrence and Alice Siever. The custom works for the Seivers include his first ever sofa design as well as several tables, lamps and more. These works have remained with the family until now.
