The Lincoln Futura was a concept car designed in 1955 by Ford stylists, Bill Schmidt and John Najjar. Primarily used for showroom promotions, the original hand-built car was sold to auto customizer George Barris who used it as the basis for the car on the Batman television series - the Batmobile. The present model was built by custom builder Marty Martino in the late 1980s.
