I have always lived in simple places. There is nothing extraordinary about these places, but somehow I find them beautiful. In the Midwest, the highest hill is about 150 feet. It isn't spectacular like the western United States and, even though I have been out there, I find beauty in the landscape in the Midwest. I feel that, instead of photographing a sand dune, I can photograph a footprint in the sand; instead of a mountain, a dense group of trees.
