Creative Vision + Expert Craftsmanship
Arturo Pani and Manuel Chacón
Known as the premiere decorator to Mexico’s upper-class, Arturo Pani relied on the skilled craftsmen and artisans at the Talleres Chacón workshop in Mexico City to execute his signature gilded-iron and metal designs. The relationship between Pani and workshop founder, Manuel Chacón was a fruitful collaboration, Pani conceived of imaginative forms and Chacón brought them to life using forged iron and technical virtuosity. Occasionally, the resulting designs would remain in the prototype stage due to concerns with fabrication and cost. However, the end product was always a stunning example of Pani's creative vision met with expert craftsmanship. The present lot was acquired from Manuel Chacón upon his retirement from the workshop in 2010.
