Beautiful & Macabre
The Jewelry of J. Rudy Lewis
The jewelry of J. Rudy Lewis emerges out of vast life experience and is rooted in art historical context. Born in Main Line, Philadelphia to a family of art collectors and benefactors, Lewis was exposed early to fine art giving him a creative edge. His interest in archeology and anthropology is apparent in his aesthetic—a touch of medieval mystery, the macabre and enough edge for Rock and Roll—that it is both historic and contemporary. Lewis expertly combines various materails including rough-cut diamonds, leather and metalwork to create mostly one-of-a-kind and bespoke commissions; the legendary, Patti Smith is among his famous patrons.
