Javier Calleja’s artworks titled Little Maurizio are a tribute to Maurizio Cattelan, an artist whom he admires and whose playful spirit is represented in the wide-eyed figures. More than just a figurine, Little Maurizio can be a key chain, a bag tag or even worn as a necklace. Reminiscent of Cattelan’s democratic approach to art, Calleja’s Little Maurizios can go anywhere and be anything. Published in a total edition of 3000, there are 101 different hair and outfit combinations, and less than 300 were produced in each possible colorway. Adding to the fun, Little Maurizios were offered directly from the producer in a blind box, so the color combinations were always a surprise.
