The Gemini X spacecraft touchdowned in the Atlantic Ocean after 43 revolutions of the Earth about 4 nautical miles from the prime recovery ship, USS Guadalcanal and 460 nautical miles east of Cape Kennedy at 4:07 p.m. (EST), July 21, 1966, to conclude a three-day mission in space.
The astronauts were picked up from the ocean by a recovery helicopter and flown to the Guadalcanal to begin postflight medical and technical debriefings. U.S. Navy frogmen recovered the Gemini X parachute and the capsule was hoisted on board USS Guadalcanal.
