More than twenty-five years in the making, this private collection catalogs the remarkable story of Murano glass with masterworks spanning 100 years of creativity and invention including the greatest collection of Barovier to ever to come to market. From early works by Artisti and Artistica Barovier to pre- and post-war marvels of design by Ercole Barovier, this sale illustrates the extraordinary contribution of the Barovier family, one of the oldest in the history of blown glass.
This special collection includes several fine and rare Mosaico vases by Artisti Barovier and Fratelli Toso as well as numerous extraordinary examples of 19th century glass by Francesco Ferro e Figlio, Salviati, Vincenzo Moretti and more. Important vases by Venini including a spectacular Capello di Doge from Thomas Stearns, several fine Carlo Scarpa Bugne vases, rare and beautiful Zanfirici vases from Dino Martens and spectacular examples of Archimede Seguso’s Merletti designs also standout among the works.
