Grandeur in Lighting

A Monumental Form

In 1933 Pietro Chiesa designed the glass lenses for this monumental lamp’s prototype, which was much smaller in size. Made to measure, each of these lamps were produced by a single artisan; their significant size as well as the slenderness and color of the glass elements made these works difficult to produce. Each example features five layers of crystal including clear, frosted and convex glass elements; the curvature, delicacy and quality create a soft light similar to an abat-jour, diffusing the light to allow for intimacy in grand settings.
