The present lot comes from the Estate of Scott Berman. Berman was a restaurateur and collector who got his start with a small seafood catering business located in East Hampton and Sag Harbor. It was here in Sag Harbor that Berman became good friends with Neil Williams and started collecting his works. The two shared a Portuguese motto: Nao quero, nao tenho que, nao vou, which means: I don't want to, I don't have to, and I ain't gonna.
