Designs for Disney by Michael Graves

Similar designs in a guest room at the Disney Swan Hotel.

Completed in 1990, the Swan Hotel at Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Florida was one of the first projects at the theme park to embody “entertainment architecture”. Charged with creating a themed environment without using any Disney characters, Michael Graves designed the massive hotel with bright hues, bold shapes and references to Floridian flora and fauna. A thoroughly Postmodern monument, the Swan Hotel was groundbreaking in its use of design to create a unique, entertainment experience. The present lot is a prototype lamp table created for the hotel’s guest rooms.
