The influential Raymond Loewy designed everything from cars, trains and buses to furniture, objects and even product design. During the 1950s, Model Builders, Inc. created nearly 100 working models for Raymond Loewy Associates. This prototype ashtray, designed by Loewy for the Greyhound Scenicruiser bus interior, was made in 1953. Ultimately, the ashtray never went into production and William Chaffee, the president of Model Builders, Inc. and a good friend of Richard Latham of Raymond Loewy Associates, was given the work for his company collection. The Greyhound Scenicruiser bus inspired by a Raymond Loewy design.
