David Wojnarowicz

at the Public Illumination Picture Gallery

For his exhibition at the Public Illumination Picture Gallery in the summer of 1982, artist David Wojnarowicz spray-painted images using stencils directly on to the walls of the gallery. He created a series of work using the same stencils, a selection of which are housed in the permanent collection of the Whitney Museum of American Art where a retrospective of the artist's work will be held later this year.

The walls at the Public Illumination Picture Gallery spray-painted and stenciled by the artist.
