Niels O. Møller 1920–1981
Designer Niels Otto Møller exemplified Danish modern style—elegant craftsmanship, a focus on natural materials, and timeless designs assembled using old craft techniques. Born in Århus, Denmark in 1920, he completed a cabinetmaking apprenticeship in 1939 and later studied at the Århus School of Design. In 1944 he founded his own studio and production company J.L. Møllers Møbelfabrik in Denmark which is still in business today and managed by his family. In 1974 and 1981, the company was awarded the Dansk MøbelIndustri's Furniture Prize. Niels Otto Møller died in 1981.
