Rebellion, vision, and raw creative energy converge in this debut June 12th auction dedicated to the art and artifacts of countercultural movements. Counterculture: Art, Objects and Ephemera traces the radical spirit of the Beats, psychedelia, punk rock, occult traditions, underground comics, skate culture, and more, and includes works from the Collection of Richard Metzger, a writer, TV host, and the creator of the Disinformation brand and the popular outsider arts blog, Dangerous Minds. While the heart of the collection beats strongest on the West Coast, its reach is global, capturing the bold voices and visual legacies of cultural revolutionaries across time and geography.

Highlights include a print by artist and musicologist Harry Smith once owned by William Burroughs, as well as a painting by Burroughs himself, a monumental work on paper by Cameron, a haunting photograph by Kenneth Anger, along with works from R. Crumb, Wallace Berman, Joe Coleman, and many more.
