This developmental example of the CTW-3 features a wooden “plug” at the intersection of the legs to the underside, predating the production examples where leg members intersect at the center. This detail was an attempt by Herman Miller and Evans Products to use the same legs on the first generation all wood cabinets that predate the Eames Storage Units.
